You probably have arrived at the this page because you are interested in joining a club that is affiliated with the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) so that you may buy rifles, ammunition, and other merchandise from the CMP.

Southeast Louisiana Firearms Safety, Inc. (SELFS, Inc.), the tax-exempt, non-profit corporation that runs the Honey Island Shooting Range is a CMP-Affiliated Gun Club; however, SELFS, Inc. is not a typical club in which one pays a fee and becomes a member.

To become a “member” of SELFS, Inc., one actually becomes a volunteer range officer.  To become a range officer, one must become an NRA-certified Range Safety Officer, a DWLF-certified Hunter Education Instructor, and agree to work at least one shift per month at the Honey Island Range.  There is also a training period in which you must work shifts with our Range Master or a designated Trainer.  If you wish to become a range officer, please click here for more information.  Once you become a range officer, you will be a "member" of the CMP-Affiliated SELFS, Inc., and will be able to purchase rifles, ammunition, and other merchandise from the CMP.

However, if you cannot become a volunteer range officer at the Honey Island Range, there is a convenient and cheap alternative.  The Louisiana Shooting Association (LSA) is Louisiana's NRA-Affiliated State Association.  LSA is also a CMP-Affiliated club, and once you are a member, you will be able to purchase rifles, ammunition, and other merchandise from the CMP.  To join the LSA, click here.
